Access card

Do I need a special card to access Studentpalatset?

Answer: Yes. You can buy the card at the reception desk for 25 SEK. We only accept card payments!

For how long is the card valid?

Answer: The validity is based on whatever student id you show us when you get the card, for example Studentkortet, Mecenatkortet or a letter of registration. If you are unsure of what you have shown us you can always stop by the reception desk so that we can check you card.

I am not a member of the student union. Can I have access to Studentpalatset?

Answer: Yes, you can. Access to Studentpalatset isn’t connected to membership of the student union.

I want to come to Studentpalatset during the weekend and I won’t have time to come by to get a card before 5 o’clock on a weekday. Is there a solution to this problem?

Answer: To open the entrance doors in the evenings and during weekends you need to have an access card, but if you don’t have one there is an entry phone to the left of the middle door. The janitors’ office is staffed all throughout our opening hours it is possible to get a card on evenings and weekends as well.

I’ve left my card at home. Is it still possible for me to get in?

Answer: If you forgot to bring your card you can borrow a card for the day, leaving a 50 SEK cash deposit.

Which universities are affiliated with Studentpalatset?
Answer: Stockholm university, KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Karolinska institutet, Södertörn university and Stockholm school of economics.

I’m a student at another university. Can I come to Studentpalatset any ways?
Answer: When there’s plenty of room it’s possible to borrow a card for the day, leaving a 50 SEK cash deposit. During the busiest times of the year we can only admit entrance for students from the affiliated universities.

I’m at student atThe Scandinavian College of Naprapathic Manual Medicine. Why don’t I have access to Studentpalatset?
Answer: The Scandinavian College of Naprapatic Manual Medicine has decided not to take part in the collaboration funding Studentpalatset.

I’m studying at gymnasiet. Do I have access to Studentpalatset?
Answer: No.

Group study rooms

How far in advance is it possible to reserve a group study room?
Answer: The group study rooms can at the earliest be reserved on day in advance.

Does one have to come to the reception desk to reserve a group study room?
Answer: No, you can also reserve a room over the phone: 08-674 76 57.

How long time does one have to claim the key for the group study room?
Answer: 15 minutes. After that time the reservation as a whole will be erased and the room can be reserved by someone else.

I had reserved more than one pass and failed to collect the key on time. Do I still have the reservation for the following pass?
Answer: No. If the key is not claimed on time the reservation as a whole is erased.

Computers and wifi

Are there any computers that one can borrow at Studentpalatset?
Answer: There’s a couple of computers in the entrance hall that can be used for uptil 30 minutes. They can be used for printing. If you need a computer for a longer period you’ll have to bring your own.

Is there a wifi-network at Studentpalatset and if so, how can I get access to it?
Answer: Students at Stockholm university can log into the wifi-network with their existing account from SU. Other students can connect via EDUROAM.

My university doesn’t have a connection with EDUROAM. How can I connect to the wifi?
Answer: You can get a guest password that will function for a week at the reception desk. To get it you’ll have to show ID.

Miscellaneous

Is it possible to print and make copies at Studentpalatset?
Answer: Yes. Prints and copies costs one SEK per page. Ww ony accept card payments but unfortunately we cannot accept card payments below 10 SEK. If you need to print or take copies for a lower amount you can buy one of our copy cards for 10 SEK. Then you can spend the remaining amount at another time.

Is it possible to send faxes at Studentpalatset?
Answer: No. It is no longer possible.

Is it possible for distance students to write exams at Studentpalatset?
Answer: Unfortunately, we cannot provide this type of service. Some branches of the public library may offer it so our recommendation is to contact them for more information.

Is it possible to scan documents at Studentpalatset?
Answer: Yes. The cost is 2 SEK per document.
